Big Draw – “India and the Drawing Age”

Come and celebrate drawing in the modern age and recognise its importance in fashion, engineering, architecture, product design, children’s books and graphic novels, cartoons, advertising, computer games and much more.
How is drawing used today, and why is it still so vital? This is an opportunity to experiment with new digital technologies and materials or to explore traditional media. All kinds of mark making (with meaning!) are valid – from painting to animation and drawing with light.
We are linked with a school in India and we would also like to look at Indian design, images, dancing, so we will have a variety of “drawing activities” to look to the future as well as across the globe. Drawing is also good for recalling and remembering so you could record histories – different generations, their memories and backgrounds. The list is endless.
There will be the opportunity for a lucky few to make models with Ashley Jones – so be an early bird if you want to have a go!
Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available.
