Welcome to the 2011 Festival!
This is the third year of the festival and it is going from strength to strength. The Westbury Lions and Rotary associations set up the Festival initially as a music festival. This was well received and so our aspirations grew. We wanted to introduce as many of the art forms as possible so Matravers School, a specialist arts college joined the organizing team.
Last years festival saw a wide range of music and arts events in a range of different venues in and around Westbury. Over a month there were recitals, concerts, exhibitions, workshops finishing with a performance from the Wiltshire Youth Orchestra on their way to a concert tour of China.
The organizing committee has grown again and this has given us access to new artists and musicians. The website demonstrates that once again that there is a comprehensive range of musical and arts events to entice and entertain. Exhibitions of prints, film, books and blogging, photography and fine art, is interspersed with a folk weekend of dance and music, concerts, recitals, book readings, poetry workshops, dance extravaganza and school concerts.
Use the website to choose the events that you will enjoy most and maybe try something new! Keep looking regularly as details change as events are entered.
The official opening will be on Friday 16th Sept 2011 at 6pm in the Market Place, Westbury. Please join us for drinks as you view the exhibition and meet the artists.
